Waterford recently hit a major milestone; the very first resident, Kristi Watson, took possession of her new home from Douglas Homes on March 26! We are thrilled to welcome Kristi and her two daughters as the first of many Waterford residents.
Kristi has called Chestermere home for almost 15 years, seeing it grow in size and features. She says, “A smaller living community was an attraction to raise a family. Now, as the kids are older, it is great to see more amenities becoming available with the new communities.” While Chestermere has come a long way from the small town it once was for Kristi, Waterford strives to maintain the small town appeal with big city amenities.
For Kristi, being located somewhere accessible to Calgary for work was an essential requirement while she searched for a new home. Since Waterford is located on the southwest corner of Chestermere, it provides easy access to the City of Calgary for any working professional. Kristi states that easy access to Glenmore Trail is one of the reasons she chose Waterford as her new community.
As the weather continues to warm up this spring, we will begin to see even further developments throughout the community. This summer, residents of Phase 1 can look forward to pathways, parks, an outdoor gym and many opportunities to engage in activities for the whole family. When asked what her favourite thing about Waterford is, Kristi claims, “More to come as the community develops – I am looking forward to the water feature.”
Now, Kristi says she’s ready to kick back and relax after the move is over and enjoy the summer of 2021 with her girls and their dog Willow. “It will be nice to watch the community continue to develop and grow as homes get completed and people start moving in.” We can’t wait to introduce more Waterford residents in the coming months.
